World Book Day

We all enjoyed another special day for celebrating books. A big thank you to everyone for supporting World Book Day.
Once again, the creativity and effort that went in to the book themed homework was amazing. Every class had an opportunity to see the exhibition in the Hall in the afternoon.
Thank you to FoBS who provided all of the children with hot chocolate for 'bedtime stories'.
The Travelling Book Fair was well supported and we will let you know the total amount raised shortly.
Here are just a few photos from the day.

Remembrance

At 11 o'clock we all stopped and fell silent for 2 minutes to remember all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of our nation.

During the week each class created a wreath to lay at the Lych-gate.

Our new Trim Trail

The new trim trail is now installed and being enjoyed by all of the children. What a fabulous addition to the playground for everyone to develop their physical skills and to have fun! Many thanks to our hardworking FoBs who generously contributed to the purchase.

Pictured are the school council members who were involved in the design process.

Poetry Week

1st - 4th November

The first week of this term was 'Poetry Week', during which all the classes learnt about and wrote various genres of poetry. The children wrote some fantastic poems and we ended the week with an assembly to share all the wonderful learning that had taken place.

In the KS1assembly, Wrens performed a variety of Nursery Rhymes, Year 1 shared a number of acrostic poems about fireworks, pumpkins and autumn and Year 2 performed their own class humorous poem on the subject of chocolate cake!

In the KS2 assembly, Year 3 performed 'The Sound Collector' by Roger McGough, Year 4 shared some brilliant cinquains on the theme of war, Year 5 shared some Tanka poems inspired by the Harry Potter houses and Year 6 performed the Michael Rosen rap.

Well done to everyone for their hard work and your super performances!
