Topic
Our topic for Terms 5 and 6 is 'It's All Greek To Me!'
For our Science topic in term 4, we have been learning about Forces and Magnets. An experiment that we really enjoyed focused on the force of friction. For this experiment, we investigated the amount of friction created by different surfaces. We placed a toy car at the end of each surface and recorded how high the surface had to be lifted before the car would move. It was really fun and we loved the fact that it was so hands on!
To celebrate Fair Trade Fortnight, we held a tea party and invited parents and grandparents along to celebrate with us. We spent the morning baking some yummy treats using fair trade ingredients and we also served fair trade tea and coffee. It was a great success and everyone had a wonderful time.
We have been studying the French artist Georges Seurat, who created a technique called 'Pointillism'. We had great fun producing our own pointillism paintings!
On Wednesday 21st September, Kingfishers class traveled to Stonehenge for a class trip. We were able to have a look around the museum and the Neolithic huts before having a tour around the stones and taking part in a 'Stones and Bones' workshop. We had a lovely time and were very lucky with the weather!
