On Friday 15th June we held a ‘More Able PE’ morning. 6 children from each class were selected to take part. This was a chance for our ‘more able’ PE children to experience a new sport and skills to enhance their PE. Matt from Go Active ran the sessions and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
On Thursday 9th February and Friday 10th February, the whole school took part in an Intra Netball tournament. The Wrens played ‘Messy Bedrooms’ in the hall and Robins and Swallows braved the cold weather and played a game called ‘Roller Ball.’ Kingfishers and Woodpeckers played ‘Skittleball’ and Nightingales and Eagles played ‘Hi 5’ netball. The children competed in their houses and they all demonstrated great sportsmanship. The staff and children thoroughly enjoyed it and displayed some excellent skills. A huge well done to all of the children!
We have now introduced two new exciting clubs for Years 1, 2, 3 and 4. Years 1, 2 and 3 can now sign up for a club called ‘Urban Polo’ on a Wednesday. It is like hockey but with a twist. Our second club is ‘Street Surfing’ for Years 3 and 4 on a Friday. Street surfing is a combination of snowboarding and skating. If you would like any further information, then please ask Miss Williamson or Mrs Medhurst. Have a look at the pictures below.
On Wednesday 16th November, children from Years 4, 5 and 6 took part in the Salisbury Primary Schools Hockey Festival. This was the first time that we had entered this tournament and the children had only started to play hockey in September! We came 9th out of 12 and the children play extremely well. They demonstrated excellent sportsmanship. Well done to all of the children that took part!
